Rustop Hooks

Rustop™ is a revolutionary, new product for fishing hooks and other steel products in saltwater environments. When applied to your hooks, Rustop™ acts as a sacrificial anode to prevent corrosion of the hook. When Rustop™ becomes corroded, it can be easily replaced to continue rust prevention. Thus, anglers can use high carbon steel hooks, which are harder and stronger than stainless steel hooks, with confidence that they will not rust. Because stainless is a softer material than high carbon steel, hook diameters must be thicker to achieve strength and points are weaker and tend to dull quickly. Because Rustop™ attracts corrosion, the hook will eventually corrode out of the fish’s mouth. Stainless on the other hand, will not rust can kill or maim if it remains in the fish.

Rustop™ is available in 2-inch wide adhesive backed strips that can be cut into 1" X 1/2” sections
